‘Love Is Stronger Than Hate’ is a powerful and emotional story of life, sacrifice, and healing. The lyrics begin by describing familiar, traditional expectations - learning to fight, following family footsteps, and settling down with a family. However, the narrative quickly shifts to the harsh reality of getting drafted and experiencing the horrors of war, with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and ultimately returning home with severe PTSD. Despite the trauma and distance, the song emphasizes the importance of love as a source of strength and comfort.
